-Industrial Island-
The remnants of American society landed on Industrial Island, where they began stripping metal from vehicles and buildings to create weapons and blockades to defend against attacks. The boarders are covered by metal walls ten feet high, with civilian guards posted as protection.
Most buildings are now bare, except for those which have been transformed into factories to manufacture anything which requires metal. They supply the mainland of Everworld with their product; they accept purified natural resources, metal, or relics of America as forms of payment. Although the industry is booming, assuming materials are available, the inhabitants are poor. The high cost of food and nutrition has left many in malnourished conditions.
The land is baron, the sky covered with smoke. In some of the central portions of the island, the smog is so thick that soot will cling to the skin of burn the eyes of those within. It is more often than not that children from the mainland are sent to the island with hopes of making a profit in the only industrial city that remains. However, they are quickly thrown into the worst of the conditions being seen as “pure-lunged.”
The society is generally ill-tempered, given their bleak surroundings. Most members of the society take on the additional role of militia. They are a god-fearing state, which have used the Ten Commandments as their code of laws.
-Snowdonia-
A cold mountainous region on the northern tip of Everworld. They have a hunter/gathering social structure, and keep to themselves. They are intolerable to outsiders, and have no known religious affiliation. They are said to be hoarders who routinely scavenge the areas at the base of the mountain for things which they can hoard.
-Alpine Ascovia-
A hilled region which has populations of animals which were unaffected or mutated during the outbreak.
-Ascovia City-
Ascovia City is a mix of racial backgrounds which have collected to rebuild society. They use the structure of an English city as their home to protect them from the elements. With no running electricity or gasoline, most information is spread through word of mouth. Because there is no majority nationality, there is no common heritage or religion in the area. However, individual communities have begun forming into tight nit groups where they can identify with one another based on historical backgrounds.
Ascovia City has built relations with its neighboring cities to try to stay relevant in society. They have begun stripping metal from objects to trade to Industrial City. In return, Industrial City accepts their young as “apprentices,” and pays them in weapons and armor which they can use to protect themselves.
The New England Farm Lands contacted Ascovia City after Utopia refused to make trade with them for being a “underdeveloped” society. The Farm Lands provide Asvocia with diseased resources, which Asvocia then sends to Utopia for purification. They receive money from Utopia for sending the resources, and receive a portion of the purified resources as payment from the Farm Lands.
-Little Town-
A small community in the north western section of No Man’s Land. The area has several shops and taverns which have several regular patrons. Because of its location, there are not many tourists who take their time to visit Little Town. This has crippled their economy, forcing inflated minimum wage and deflated products to try to boost their economy. It is assumed that the bubble will eventually pop, causing years of depression within the city, though there are no economists surveying Little Town to draw a timeline until the bubble pops.
-Raevukas-
During the fall of England, a sinkhole emerged in the western center of the island. Beneath the surface appeared an ancient Roman city built before the founding of England. Though many of the buildings have decays and there are no streets, the area was highly excavated by scientists in search of relics of the Old World. Most of the city is now bare of anything which may be seen as valuable, but there are rumors of catacombs deep within the city that the scientists have missed. Rumors tell of mysterious riches, ranging from coin and financial wealth to those which rumor an ancient Roman civilization that has somehow remained unaffected through the centuries.
Because of its location in No Man’s Land, it is hard to reach the city with resource supplies and appropriate tools required to dig. You will occasionally find ‘tour guides’ in the surroundings cities which, for a ‘small’ fee, will transport you ‘safely’ into Raevukas with supplies and a mule ready to carry your needs.
-Reaper City-
It is said that you can still hear the souls of the damned in the dry wind. The streets are silent, the city broken. It is a place where people go in search of death or rebirth. There is no economy, no law, no government. The train which passes between Ascovia City and Utopia speeds up as it passes, trying to limit the time the wealthy spend viewing the destruction. On more than one occasion, drifters have wandered onto the tracks with the purpose of suicide.
-New England Farm Lands-
The remnants of English society migrated to this South Eastern border knowing it had the most plentiful of resources. Because the resources are still considered ridden with disease, they wear hazmat suits while tending the fields and trading with one another.
Most of the inhabitants live in small wooden structures or holes in the hillside. Once a month, the farming men pack their resources and head to Ascovia City, where they exchange large sums of sickly resources for smaller batches of ‘safe’ resources for survival. They are willing to trade their resources for British heirlooms and fresh resources. However, they remove seedlings from their crops to ensure they continue to monopolize on their resources. Thus, they remain a weak economy but a very necessary part of Everworld society.
They are generally mild-mannered while dealing with the other cities, though they loathe them for stealing the land which was rightfully theirs. They are intolerant to religion, and have a strange set of ethics…
-Utopia-
Utopia is the dreamland of all those who live in Everworld. It is a city which seems to have flourished with the events of the world. All of the surviving top-class members of humanity have gathered to build a unified frontier against the lowlier survivors.
There are high class shops, taverns, and pristine skyscrapers which make the city appear as a paradise in comparison to the rest of Everworld. Utopia is responsible for 95% of the commerce in Everworld, both in relics and “ancient” money. Scientists scavenge Raevukas for artifacts and relics of the old world. It is also well-known that scientists working for the government have developed a machine which will purify natural resources, can produce medicine, and increase the nutritional value of purified material.
Utopia is also the only city which has access to electricity. It uses a good portion of its power source to run the train line which transports passengers and items between Ascovia City and Utopia. This is an extremely expensive route, though it is much safer than the sometimes deadly journey across No Man’s Land.
The city is formed by a totalitarianism government primarily formed by the surviving members of the United Nations, which had taken shelter in England during the war. There are military guards which patrol the streets, heavily armored with a variety of weapons and skills based on classification. Possibly because of the state of the world, the inhabitance of Utopia appears happy with the rules and regulations. Either this or, more likely, they are too fearful of being banished to any of the ‘lesser’ cities to speak their mind and revolt.
-New Nifhel-
In the south western region of Everworld, a tribe of mutated humans have gathered in isolation. These are the humans which have been affected by eating diseased resources. Once infected, the offspring of the infected are born with genetic mutations. These mutations are physical handicaps which have deemed them as outcasts in the rest of Everworld. No city in Everworld is willing to negotiate or barter with New Nifhel for fear that contact with the mutated may be also spread through the air, water, skin or blood contact. However, it is equally likely that their mutation is simply that of genetic design which is only passed from generation to generation. Because of this, there is no knowledge if they are religious, or what type of bartering they will accept. The area is rather cold, so it is safe to assume that anything to protect them from the elements would be willingly accepted.
-Darkova-
After several generations of mutation, members of New Nifhel begin taking on a more animalistic nature, losing all possibilities for linguistic skills and proper human skeletal structure. When these children reach the age of pubescence, they are exiled to the south eastern corner of the map in a terrain full of crushed rock formations and wildlife. Because of this, most of them end up adapting animal-like lifestyles, living off the meat of whatever they come across. Their teeth are remarkably sharpened from the years of eating bones, and talons strong from years of sharpening on boulders. They balance on their knuckles and the thoracic portion of their feet.
